Dude, seriously? I need distracting because otherwise my entire family is going to get an earful from me about the aforementioned crackpot cures.

And did I ever tell you that ever since you did that "one day's head start" Norrington/Sparrow art way back in the day, I've had a modern day AU flirting around in the back of my brain? v. evil.

Heh. I've just given up reading McKay/Sheppard. I can't even work up hate about it anymore.

And I have all kinds of Jack/Norrington AUs in my head, including a noir-ish spy thriller in Verona Beach. So I highly support the writing of modern day AUs.
