spin's the verb

Having tried and absolutely failed to locate any book (other than by Octavia Butler) mentioned here, I instead picked up Isabel Allende's Zorro. 'Cause well, it's Zorro. I think I am going to go back next week and pick up the same novel in the original spanish, because I need to read more in spanish and I heart Zorro like mad, so...yes.

There is a post for me to make about Don Diego de la Vega, but I suspect it will have to wait.

But I will say this: Zorro is one of the first things I can remember sharing with my dad and we would talk after and play, and he always let me be Zorro and he would be Commandante and the sticks swords we had would make a fierce noise as we dueled (and often stumbled -- we were neither of us very graceful) across the backyard.

I'm jealous, now. Whenever I watched Zorro on TV as a kid, my dad would pass by and say, "You know what? I think it's Don Diego who's Zorro!" In the middle of a sword-fight or anything. He always thought my irritation was really amusing.

Awww. No, my dad loved Zorro as much as I did, which is awesome.

Love's the word...

I've had that Blackstreet song stuck in my head for the last few days. Good times, good times.

It's an awesome, awesome song.

[snugs you]

I used to watch the old B&W one on the Disney channel.

That is the one my daddy and I watched.

I still love it, man.

You know. There's a really good SF book store up this way. I could check and see if they have any of those titles.

*snuggle* If all else fails, i will just get them from Amazon, but thank you, darling.

I don't understand why we don't have a decent SF book store out here, but such is life.

I would suggest trying half.com first, and buying from the seller abebooks if it's a possibility. Abebooks is a conglomerat of independent and small book stores that have pooled resources. I like to support them. :-)

Right. Remembering to sign in first...
