Dude, this was just...an amazing cinematographic masterpiece. The scenes of Gunn and Alanna, and Gunn and Kate, and Gunn and Wes, and Cordelia and Angel, and Gunn signing in blood, and the end with him not dead... It just all blew me away.

Oh, and the link to the MP3 doesn't work. Much sadness, because I've never heard this song before, but I now love it.

When Gloss recs things, I tend to at least glance at them. However, I didn't come download this because I'm really not a big Kayne West fan. I'm a vid whore, but I'm really not good at feedbacking them. I appreciate them because I know how difficult they are to make.

Then I heard there were kerfluffles, and because I'm drawn to them for some ungodly reason, I came to look.

Incredible. I actually have respect for the song now that I've seen this. It's gorgeous (and not just for the lovely gentleman in it), and so well put together. I'm rightly jealous of your vidding talents.

I'm not a vid fan. Really don't do much for me. For a lot of reasons. But this? This *really* worked. This managed to avoid all those reasons that usually result in my non-malicious apathy toward vids.

I'm not a huge Angel fan either. Missed the last two seasons at least. Possibly more. This rocked my socks off. And made me think I need to go rewatch the series.

I think that was one of the best character vids I've ever seen -- and the music fits Gunn perfectly.

The montage with the line "Jesus walks for them" with the ones Gunn fights with and then the ones he fights for was just perfect.

Oh my god. I want to hold up a candle or something. not a lighter and definitely not a cellphone. um that was embarrassing right. Okay, this is stunning. Sheila. THIS IS STUNNING. From the little flourishes (or where you expand outside that 4/4 beat and then land on it (the cop's half-note rising walk at 1:18; the candle at 1:34; not-Zoe's arch and snap) or where there's internal movement that's faster than that relentless 4/4 but still /on beat/ like the lightning at 1:07 (16th notes perfectly) or the portal wrapping up at 2:21 to the 16th note accents that are getting louder in the music. OMG)

--but this is all kind of icing, because the strength of this vid is about what it /means/ and guh. There's a statement somewhere (Inga Muscio?) about abuse begetting abuse: "Hurt people hurt people." But this is all about resisting that; about the struggle /not/ to just keep perpetuating awfulness in an impossibly horrible world, and the flashes of good things in that world. The struggle to keep faith and to keep acting in faith. Gah. This is the honorable
stoic; this is Gunn. I should probably watch again but one of the things that struck me? That "the Way" is the truth of a rotting corpse. That throughout, Gunn has to forgo the easy way out and go for the painful one. Just. Beautiful.
