I so wish Wanted was still on because I think you would have liked Carmen a lot and probably Connie (Conrad), too. It was real life crime, not supernatural, but both were stoic, by the book, and all around awesome.

Stoical cops who fight any kind of crime, but especially supernatural crime because it never fails to irritate the *hell* out of them, are just made of awesome, miss.
