I am totally jacking this from
cidercupcakes, because well. Comment here with a word, a phrase, a pairing I like, a book I like, a story I wrote, really anything -- and I'll give you the tracklisting for a short soundtrack/fanmix to it.
It's music. I like music. I am uploading (hopefully) the last hundred or so cover songs requested. Good times, good times.
I have made myself shiny icons of shininess.
And one day, I will be able to change my default. That day has not yet arrived, but I'm hoping!

Kisstag sparrington, full of snarky hairpulling and bratty taunting love, which is energetic and jazzy and more like dancing than anything else --
Sing Sing Sing - Benny Goodman (http://www.sendspace.com/file/5kcudk)
Can I Steal A Little Love - Joey Fatone (http://www.sendspace.com/file/9hi1d4)
Angsty sparrington, which is...hm. Dark and full of regrets and desperation and wariness and walking away and silences.
Snake Song - Emmylou Harris (http://www.sendspace.com/file/fk9d9t)
Street Spirit (Fade Out) - Radiohead (http://www.sendspace.com/file/a9ww2y)

La Vie En Rose - Louis Armstrong (http://www.sendspace.com/file/gdwcn9)
Am I Blue? - Billie Holiday (http://www.sendspace.com/file/adgvru)
Et Vous - Amelia (http://www.sendspace.com/file/oipxw6)
In my head, Peter Smith-Kingsley is...jazzy and classy and a little bit wistful and a lot worldly without being jaded. I briefly considered including some plainsong chants and motets, because he's also a musician, but I figured that he'd rather listen to Billie Holiday lament over her lost love than to think about how blessed are those who suffer...whatever.

A Kind of Magic - Queen (http://www.sendspace.com/file/h1c717)
Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) - Steve Harley (http://www.sendspace.com/file/15stel)
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police (http://www.sendspace.com/file/spokk6)
Universe and U (acoustic extravaganza) - KT Tunstall (http://www.sendspace.com/file/gnoneq)
So, okay, this was hard largely because I would love to go for period appropriate music, but I can't and so I went for songs that sort of...captured the way it all feels for me. Which is, you know, smiley and twirly and playful and whimsical. The books make feel like I want to hug the world, because I love everyone in them and there is shopping and bantering and flirting and fitting together really well and BFFs and there's magic and awesomeness. So. That's what I went for with this mini mix thing. And then the KT Tunstall because it makes me smile in another way.
