kneel before zod!

We put in another offer on another place and it's been accepted by the seller. Now it just needs to be accepted by the bank and then we enter escrow. It is a 2 bedroom place in Lake Forest (eeeee so excited/nervous/excited)! If it happens, I will be moving out 30 days after that.

So, naturally, in an excess of enthusiasm, I started looking at appliances and paint and thinking of ways to decorate (we have a HUGE number of nerdy posters. Like all three LotR ones and 2 Superman Returns ones, 3 WoW cinematic posters, a Starcraft one, etc and we're getting them framed for epic decoration of taste and class) and so I was looking at paint colors.

You guys, you guys, you guys: there's a paint color called "krypton." and it's a pretty pale blue. I think I have found the color my bedroom is going to be! yay!

Good luck! And get a good home inspector... (Yeah, can you tell we just bought as well...)

Also, as someone who just had basically a whole house painted, my advice is to buy little 2 oz samples of the colors you are thinking about using and get a small whiteboard/brush to paint it on (the paint place usually has both) - the colors are always slightly different (usually darker) than they appear on the color sample or paper color. Then you can compare the colors to your carpets or furniture or whatever. Many paint places have a color "consultant" that can help if you have difficult rug/furniture colors.

If you are interesting, Benjamin Moore makes an Eco-spec paint in all it's colors that is the same cost as regular paint but with zero VOC's (volatile organic compounds). VOC's can linger in the air/come off the paint for years and make some homes more air poluted than the outside air (this is the odor of new paint also). The typical paint people use for low-VOC (not ero like the eco-spec) is the Aura brand - but it's twice as much. The Eco-spec is being discontinued in a couple of years, though, as they bring on a new green paint if that makes a difference to you.

Oh so cool! Take it as a good omen that one of my Flist posted her new address today after successful flat-buying.
