...that movie would have been infinitely better without the random crazy dude serial killer.

also, omg you guys, SIMPLE PRECAUTIONS WOULD HAVE PREVENTED LIKE, 2 OF THE DEATHS. LIKE A WETSUIT AND A RADIO THAT WAS NOT DEPENDENT ON THE SHIP. WTF.

I liked it, overall. Michelle Yeoh, Chris Evans, and Rose Byrne were smokin' hot; the science wasn't the best, but whatever, this is by the same guys who decided you could infect monkeys with rage and have it be transmitted to humans and it resulted in a lot of really gorgeous shots; people were generally very practical and the mistakes that were made weren't out of the realm of the possible.

But mostly, people were hot *and* pragmatic *and* saved the world *and* were all of them batshit insane and ruthless.

Wait, they were *practical*? That's awesome!

Yeah Sunshine follows in the great tradition of Danny Boyle movies that is 2/3 awesome and then kind of falls apart at the end.

But hot and practical. I can even kind of forgive the lack of wetsuit because the thing with the servers shouldn't have ever happened.

I loved that film. It wasn't as good as it could have been, but it raised my expectations enough for me to be a bit disappointed, you know? So, perversely, that's good. And I absolutely ADORED crazy sun junkie Dr Searle.

Gosh, I saw that movie today too. I think my parents regretted having me over to watch it though. Hee. I mean, I liked it (pretty! interesting idea!), but some of the science was way stupid and I'm no brainiac, so if it hurt my head? I can't imagine. Now I'm wishing I had rented it though, cause apparently there is a commentary by the expert scientist they used as advisor and I'm oh so curious.
