well, that is vexing
Oct. 4th, 2006 10:52 pmFamily matters are proceeding better than normal. Woo! I suspect highly that this is because my family has given up on the hope that if they pretend incompetence the insurance company will authorize daily nurse visits and have instead realized that I am their best chance for um, them not having to do scary things with needles and tubing.
I have learned more than I ever, ever wanted to know about needles and latex and bodily fluids of various types and pumps and *things*. The male nurse who came over on some weekend day -- Saturday, I think -- gave me a brief biology and nursing lesson. The male nurse that came the next day quizzed me. I learned that nurses of both genders think my mom makes awesome tea (which is true), my mother cannot in any way handle being around needles (which is fair), and that blood sugar tests are a bitch and a half to perform on someone else.
So...things are stable-ish. There is shouting and panic whenever something goes wrong, but that is dealable. It is all still very scary and stressful and um, there are bodily fluids, but I am protected by the mighty power of latex gloves.
That is the family update. It is like an awesome lull before a crapstorm.

In other news, what do you do when you have a mix and you have an awesome song that works *thematically* and is also, you know, fucking awesome, but which does not fit with the rest. Do I cull or do I keep? Because seriously, it's an awesome song which sticks out like a sore thumb. Decisions, decisions.
Also I have an interview and presentation on Friday. Fun times!
