So I am listening to my Muse-based Pandora station (seeded Supermassive Black Hole and KoC) and it pulls up "Falling Down" (also by Muse) with the comment:

"Based on what you've told us so far, we're playing this track because it features mellow rock instrumentation, blues influences, acoustic rhythm piano, a twelve-eight time signature and a thru composed melodic style."

Which, granted, is all stuff I like, but HOW DO YOU GET THAT FROM SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE AND KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA? Mellow rock instrumentation? Really? KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA?

now it is "it features basic rock song structures, electronica influences, a subtle use of vocal harmony, minor key tonality and acoustic rhythm guitars." (Snake Tongued Beast by Saybia).

...ooh. I like this Fields song. (dear congress, please do not pass that asinine bill that would take pandora and last fm away from me.)

eta: throwing "Welcome to the Black Parade" into the seed mix introduces uh. a bunch of generic pop punk bands I've never heard of. !!! Welcome to the Black Parade is kind of a nutty song! It goes along well with Knights of Cydonia! WTF pandora?
