Hee. So, [livejournal.com profile] ngaio asked for cover songs and this is. Uh, a musicspam entirely made of cover songs. I have way more covers, because I am a nerd, but I figured I would take a moment to spam you all with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, for they are AWESOME.

Anyway. The Gimme Gimmes are a superband-ish type punk group, made up of Spike Slawson ($wingin' Utter$, vocals), Mike Burkett (NOFX, bass), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters, guitar), Joey Cape (Lagwagon, rhythm/vocals), and Dave Raun (Lagwagon, drums). And they do nothing but covers (ranging from 60s and 70s stuff through musicals). See above, re: awesome.

I think I may in fact have to icon the picture of Patrick throwin' horns as my default rockin' out icon. Hmm.

bored bored bored.

I have "Ms. Jackson" stuck in my head because I keep listening to the live acoustic "Suburbia" by Butch Walker and he does his brief tribute to Atlanta hip hop in the middle of that song ("Pimp Juice" and "Ms. Jackson") and it makes me want to do the musicspam for Butch Walker, but I am not at home and I cannot and I wonder if anyone would actually be interested in it and so I keep holding off. Though I did tell [livejournal.com profile] wemblee I would do it, 'cause seriously, he's *adorable* and should totally be shared. Giant dorks who obviously love what they're doing are hugely appealing.

I really really love Infinity on High. I mean *really* a lot. I like FUCT too, and some stuff off TTYG and Evening Out..., but IOH is just. There are albums that I love passionately because for whatever reason they just *work* for me as an entire album, and IOH is one of those. I enjoy listening to every single track. Anyway. Other albums in this list include: Mer de Noms (APC), Maybe You Should Drive (BNL), Aenima (Tool), The Colour and the Shape (Foo Fighters), St Elsewhere (Gnarls Barkley), The College Dropout (Kanye West), Kid A (Radiohead), Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea (PJ Harvey), Haunted (Poe), and on and on and on.

Man, music is totally made of awesome.

Anyway, I am totally bored. And I am *trying* to write, but failing, as I have lost all writing mojo.

So I think people should entertain me! With things to read! Like fic! Stories I could totally go for that I don't want to write myself: Saturday!Patrick chasing Saturday!Pete through a club (yes, I *know* that's uh, implausible given the situation in the video, but *seriously*, FBI agent!Patrick running down charismatic serial killer!Pete is made of win. Also, it'd totally be like the romantic comedy that is Hannibal!) and thentheyhavesexinanalleytheend; postapocalyptic Gunn/Wes (shut up, I have a *thing*, okay? And they are my forever OTP); Mahandra/Aaron being Mahandra and Aaron-y; Victor Mancha fic (*cough* if one wanted to go to the Victor/Chase place, I would not be upset. I suppose this makes me kind of a bad person, but seriously, they are slashy like BURNING); N.E.X.T.Wave fic (pretty much anything would be awesome!); Roy + wacky JL hijinks (preferably where he hits it with...well, pretty much any member of the Justice League that isn't Superman, and he can't hit it with Supes solely because of Lois' utter awesomeness). Or Angelo fic! Seriously, not enough people write/wrote Angelo. Or the crime and beastie fighting adventures of Vicki Nelson and Connie Murphy while Harry and Henry and Mike are sort of baffled and a little turned on, 'cause seriously, who *wouldn't* be? Or Norrington! Because I am *completely* ignoring AWE I have decided, as it is destined to piss me off in a hundred million ways.

I'll totally stop now. Eeeeee "You're Crashing But You're No Wave"! I love that the chorus is made up of Butch Walker and two members of the Let's-Go-Out-Tonites.

Erm. *thinks* Pretty much that is it.
