1) In two weeks I get to dork out and rock out while seeing Young Wild Things with some pretty fabulous ladies. This is me, right here, very enthusiastically throwing horns. I am off that whole day, people, so I will pick up whoever whenever.

2) DQ is kind of the best place to work ever. One day, I talked to a guy whose email address was WARHAMMER DOT FTW. Then we bonded over his alternate email address when he started spelling out M-A-L-K-A-V- and I finished with I-A-N and there was a pause and he went, "Did you...play Vampire: The Masquerade?" To which I responded, "No, but I own Kindred: The Embraced on dvd." Man, you have not heard glee until you've heard some guy go, "OH MY GOD, YOU'RE THE ONLY OTHER PERSON I'VE EVER MET WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF THAT SHOW." Another day, I talked to a dude who was telling me about his toon named Thunderstrike, and he laughed and said, "Yes, I name all my characters after Marvel characters," to which I responded, "Thunderstrike? Like Thor, right? Yeah, no, Marvel's cool but I'm a Superman girl myself 'cause he's, you know, super." And there's this long pause and then the guy says, "You know comics? You must just be beating the guys off with sticks." HA HA no. But it was nice to know that the combination of decent phone voice and geekery was apparently enough to convince this random dude that I was like unto geek boy catnip. I really love DQ a lot, you guys. It's pretty awesome to work in a place where we're considering (and by considering, please take that to mean that we have plans already drawn up) building a mini-trebuchet to conduct cubicle warfare. Not a catapult, mind you, oh no. We vetoed that. We wanted a trebuchet. Why? Because the troops in Minas Tirith used one to HURL FALLEN SECTIONS OF THEIR OWN CITY OUT TO FUCK UP THE ARMIES OF SAURON. Nerdcore? You betcha.

3) Every day I talk to at least one but usually three of the awesomest people to ever be awesome in awesomevania. My life would be sadder without them in it. Also without my cellphone.

4) Oreos.

5) Snapple nectarine white tea. In the absense of the safeway brand spearmint white tea, this is pretty spiffy.

6) My fandoms give me life saving, giddiness, immense and all consuming dorkitude, queerness, racial and ethnic diversity, kickass women, snark, and the sheer thrill of being a fan. My fandoms are bandom, Chuck, Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Reaper, and the soon-to-air Sarah Connor Chronicles. There is not a one of them that doesn't make me happy on everything I listed earlier and I will talk about them at length if you want, just say the word.

7) I got to dork out with [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o about Sam and Sibyl Vimes and the women of the Discworld who I love passionately and crazily. The only boy in Discworld I love as much as or more than the women is Vimes and that is because pretty much the only way Vimes would be more my guy is if he was Pembleton. And then today I got to dork out with [livejournal.com profile] ladysorka about how Legolas and Gimli are a forever kind of love. And I got to squee insanely at [livejournal.com profile] thelionforreal, [livejournal.com profile] annavtree, and [livejournal.com profile] ladysorka about Pete and Patrick and go HOW ARE THEY REAL, YOU GUYS? SERIOUSLY? and make high pitched noises of happiness. All in all, it's been an awesomely geeky weekend.

8) The thing I love most about this season is the ridiculous amounts of ginger-based dessert type things I get to eat. Because you know what's pretty fucking awesome? Whole Foods and their Moravian Ginger Cookies. And oh *god* their gingerbread is amazing. Oooh, and their tea bar. Teeeeeea.

9) Music. This weekend (and the week preceding), I have listened to the following: Cobra Starship - Viva La Cobra; Fall Out Boy - The Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue, From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High; Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog, Our Endless Numbered Days; The Hush Sound - Like Vines; Muse - Black Holes and Revelations, Origin of Symmetry; and lastly, Hip Hop Classics: Vols. 1-3.

10) I will hopefully have a new computer by the new year.

1 thing that is not making me happy right now: WTF IS UP WITH THE GAS PRICES? HOLY SHIT, DUDE.
