like cnn and the weather channel: constant updates

-real life is a combination of extremely shitty and extremely awesome.

-i have Deep Thoughts on fandom and my relationship to it (10 years this year, 7 of them on LJ, and it is, like real life, simultaneously extremely shitty and extremely awesome) but they are pretty boring and mostly amount to the debate between being a lifelong fan vs being a part of a community that is often really frustrating and actually bears more thinking about.

-i am complete shit at writing cover letters. my resume is ready but I don't know how to say to a recruiter: hey, btw, I can totally do this job and I'm awesome, hire me even though there are probably loads of more qualified people. (internal recruiter. because i will have to be cold and dead before I leave my company.)

-my nose is bleeding. boo.

-the rugrats now live much closer and I seem to be developing a social life IRL.

-someone at work actually said IRL in a sentence.

-I got good and drunk on Friday night.

-it's only a month until july. july is a butch walker concert and fox1013-con. Anime Expo is also soon and, while I'm not going to that, I'm kind of amused at how many people at work were agonizing over the choice between AX and Comic Con.

-kung fu panda is awesome and adorable.

-i'm gonna go exfoliate now.

less complicated things that are making me happy

1) There are more books in that series by Shanna Swendson. Yay!

2) donella made a mix that makes me go all :D

3) guilty pleasure en espanol.

4) Possible Heroes season premiere at Comic Con; Pushing Daisies and SCC panels too, probably; Connie Willis is going to be there so I can fangirl her like whoa; toys toys toys; shirts shirts shirts; amy amy amy.

5) We did drunken Queen karaoke at the bar. I wore a tophat.
