I keep trying to write posts about the characters I love -- Boromir, the Rohirrim, Scully, Bailey, George, Norrington, Superman, Gunn, Oz, Fraser, Jubilee, Sam Vimes, Sibyl Vimes, Granny Weatherwax, etc etc etc -- and I keep running into the problem of not knowing what to *say*.

Or at least, what to say that does not make me sound like an incoherent tool. And then I convince myself that all the people who care are the people who I tell these things to on the phone. So. yes.

I share your love for most of these people (Bailey I don't know, Jubilee I barely know). Mostly because all of them are heroic in a sense that I can recognise and none of them go in for self-indulgence.

I would like to hear you sound like an incoherent tool. *g* And I would probably comment to sound like a bigger and more incoherent tool in response to many of those characters.

I'd love to hear the incoherent toolery, because that's how I love my characters, all flailing hands and just because and just look at him/her in that scene, yeah, that, that, that right there, *that's* why. And it's not about the shallow prettiness, even if that's the only thing I can say coherently ("preeeetty" is coherent, right?), it's about me bursting with love and pride over their humanity or heroism or whatever makes them so wonderful.

No, you are wrong! I don't talk to you on the phone, and *I* want to hear your incoherent love for those characters!

I love hearing you talk about why you love what you love as much as I often enjoy hearing you talk about why you hate what you hate, and for many of the same reasons--I think there are a lot of differences in the way we approach characters and get invested in fandoms, but your ideas and feelings about them always give me things to think about.

Here is the link to the most polite yet awesome pimpslap that I told you about.

Did you buy the movie guide?

Vasquez! OMG, is that an icon of *Vasquez*? 'Cause if so, that is pretty much ten different shades of *awesome*.

Yes! I begged [livejournal.com profile] ciderpress to make me an icon out of this picture and she did because she is eleven different shades of awesome!
I had such a crush on Vasquez, oh my god.

I second what arallara said. I love rambling pseudo-meta just as much as actual meta.

Actually, what I really want you to do is write me some George/Bailey post-baby fic in which her hubby doesn't survive surgery and George eventually becomes her boytoy lover.

But that's just me being a perv. :)

Woe! I would quite like to see these posts, and I am not a phone person. However, I frequently convince myself that no one really cares how my life's been lately, so I don't post, so I kind of know where you're coming from.
