You are awesome. Even weird movie version you!

And now I understand why Mr. Teatime is creepy.

Love,
S.

P.S. I almost do not want a movie version of the Watch books, as I suspect the awesomeness of Sam Vimes is difficult to convey.

ETA: Heehee! Ponder Stibbons!

ETA2: Mustrum Ridcully! Death of Rats! SNH SNH SNH! *chortles happily*

*blink* Wait -- how are you watching that? Was it airing on a cable channel I don't get? Or is there video footage floating around someplace online? (I was going to get the DVD when it came out -- not just for me, but for my husband, who has a massive crush on Susan Sto Helit. Luckily for him, I enjoy being creepily competent, even though my hair's all wrong.)

I downloaded it through the glory of the internet!

It is adorable. And kind of creepy. But mostly adorable, and Susan is rocking pretty hardcore.

Mr. Teatime reminded me of Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka, who I thought was super creepy without being evil. So creepy.

I have NO idea who could play Vimes or Vetinari, but I WANT it.

Mr. Teatime is actually creeping me out a lot in this, so I'm quite happy with him. Nobby wasn't...entirely Nobby-like, but Constable Visit was *wonderful*.

I am hugely enjoying watching this particular adaptation of Hogswatch. So, yay!

But see, that's the problem! I love Vimes (and Sibyl! Sibyl FTW!) and Vetinari *so much* that if they're not going to be perfect, I would rather they stay in my head, you know?

The Vimeses, Vetinari, and Granny Weatherwax are the ones I'm all wary about, 'cause they're just *so* wonderful. But I'm loving the Susan they cast, so maybe it will work out and I should just believe.

I really liked this Susan, especially her delivery of "I'm the inner babysitter!"

Vimes would be tricky. I'm not so worried about Granny, though. If there's one thing Britain seems to be full of, it's completely awesome elderly actresses.

Um... so how would one do that again? I have a perfectly good cable connection just sitting here....

Heeee. I torrented the thing, but if you wait, I will upload it for sharing! Because it is Susan and the Hogfather and Death and awesomeness.

Vimes is...yes, tricky. Carrot and Angua should be fine, but the Vimeses (both Sam and Sibyl) and Granny are important to me to like, a crazy degree and should be as marvelous as humanly possible.

Though you are right in that Britain does seem to have more than its fair share of completely awesome elderly actresses, so maybe Granny will be okay.
