1. Awesome discussion on the physics of Heroes and superpowers. No, really. Actual physics. And genetics that pretty much fall into line with what Amy and I have been saying about what the genetic mutation actually does. Er. For definitions of "actually" that involve wacky tv science. Short form: everyone gets their power in line with what they want/think/need as opposed to having the power hard wired. So it's not so much "Claire's DNA has magical healing powers" as it is "Claire's mutant potential takes the form of rapid cellular regeneration." Which makes it like, triply awesome that Nathan can fly. 'Cause of how he was a navy pilot during the brouhaha in the early 90s. Rise above, Nathan!

2. Comic Con is a go, which means that I will rejoin the ranks of the gainfully employed in two weeks.

3. Gainful employment, in this case, means holy shit y'all, I'm going to work for Blizzard Entertainment.

4. Other than the entire awesome of that, I am IRRITATED LIKE BURNING. Also hungry. And feeling fat. NOT ON, UNIVERSE.

5. Superman kicks ass. And believes in Santa. This makes him awesome.

6. Muse's "Glorious" is an awesome song. I know you're all shocked that I think so! But honestly, I don't think there's a song of Muse's that I *don't* think is awesome. Um, also: Black Holes and Revelations Tour Edition came out and now includes a dvd of the music videos for and live performances of "Starlight," "Supermassive Black Hole," and "Knights of Cydonia." If you *haven't* already bought the cd and um, think they are awesome? I suggest picking that up. I know it's out in the UK. Anyway, there's more info up at http://www.muse.mu I am not buying it, however, as I went to five stores to track down the limited edition cd + dvd of the Absolution Tour version that I already have. Plus, Muse music videos are kind of terrifying. Not terrifying like, say, Tool videos, but there are horror movies that don't even come close to being as terrifying as Tool videos.

7. I want to climb Ray Toro like a tree.

8. I forget what 8 was for.

9. Seriously you guys, I have no idea how girls wear microminis. My dress hits just above the knees and I'm like, "ZOMG! I am a fast woman!" and then I feel immodest. And uh, vaguely Victorian. Next thing you know, I'll be swooning at a glimpse of ankle.

10. I am thinking it is time to re-read The Diamond Age, which remains the only Neal Stephenson book where I didn't want to violently punch all the protagonists in the face by the end. But that shall have to wait until after I finish reading The Difference Engine.[1] And why no, there's no um. Rhyme or reason to this. I mean, god, it's not like I'm doing this so I can maybe attempt the mcr/fob genderswap steampunk au with soundtrack by rasputina since no one else has. Where Patrick, Mikey, Frankie, and Bob play mad scientist a lot while Pete, Andy, and Gerard try to be all political and damn the man-y and Ray Toro and Joe have fabulous hair and pretty much are just running around big pimpin' and making sure that the mad scientists and rabble rousers go to sleep occasionally and also have some food.

So like, I'm maybe 150 pages into this and I'm wondering a) why my sympathies are *not* supposed to lie with the government, b) when the dystopia kicks in, and c) when people are going to stop being dicks with entitlement issues. This is why I don't read a lot of sci fi, y'all. People are generally just *dicks*.

*snerk* The hilarity in this is that I've never actually played Warcraft. Or uh, seen it played. Or anything. I just want to work there because it's that awesome.

holy shit y'all, I'm going to work for Blizzard Entertainment.

AWESOME. Congratulations. I only ever played classic Warcraft, long before it became this multiplayer empire building world dominating game, but it gave me many, many hours of fun. I hope it gives you many, many, many hours of fab employment and fun, too.

I'm actually thinking about trying to get a job for Blizzard myself, but the hour commute (on a good day) is kind of a stumbling block.

Oh, and don't play the game. :D It's horribly addictive. I've literally got about 40 different characters spread across several servers. Oy. . .

2. Yay!
3. Blizzard? Really? Lucky!
5. Very true.
9. Sometimes I try to wear skirts, normal knee-length skirts, but every time I spend the day with my hand hovering over my ass, making sure everything is covered. I guess I never got used to them as a kid.

Heee. They asked in the interview if I played the game and I told them I didn't and they asked why and I said, "Because I'm pretty sure that if I did, I would get sucked in and never leave my house." And then they nodded and were like, "Okay, fair point." I laughed.

*twirls you* Thank you, miss!

When I walked into the office, there was a giant statue of a dwarf looking guy with a giant fuckoff axe and next to it was a statue of a girl in a space suit. And I just thought, "This is *so much win*." And now I get to go work in a place that does that! I am all whee! about the whole thing.

So much yay on so many counts!

And skirts are weird. I usually wear them well below the knee, because then I know I'm decently covered and also there aren't issues with like, accidental flashing. But the dress was really cute and I didn't realize *just* how short it was. Bah.

*G* Yeah, Famous Last Words is an awful lot like Ray porn.

Every time I watch that video though, I am horribly distracted by shouting "RUN BOB!" at the screen. And then I am distracted by Ray. And then by the hot hot flailing by everyone else.
