mostly for [livejournal.com profile] 3jane:

You know how you wanted a basic "This is the bands, these are their lineups" intro to bandom? Here you go. Also, here's one with a flow chart detailing intra-band relationships.

If I felt like it more, I would do one for the hip hop connections (of which there are surprisingly many) and possibly one over into the pop world. The FOB => Kanye West/Jay-Z/Timbaland thing hooks them all up real fast and then there's the Patrick<=>Jay-Z thing and the Kanye West/Chicago hip hop thing that I'm pretty sure played a big part in how Lupe Fiasco got on stage at the FOB show in Chicago (lucky!), and there is also New Dude Who's Name I Can't Remember that Patrick's doing production work for. On the rock/pop side, there's the Butch Walker connection with both FOB and TAI (collaboration and production mostly but Butch Walker's other guitarist for the LGOT's is Michael Guy Chislett, who is on long term loan to TAI). And then it goes insane from there, because Butch Walker is just as much of a manwhore as Pete Wentz, but with (slightly) less making out. Plus, there's a pretty hardcore Green Day (=>MCR) and Blink 182 (=>FOB) connection to some of the bands; Rise Against (=>FOB) has a connection through being former bandmates with Pete Wentz; and the Killers have a feud with uh, pretty much everyone (no, really. They have a feud on with Green Day, and had one on with FOB and Panic but then Pete Wentz!! was the mature one and stopped it, but they also share their A&R guy with FOB and are *also* part of the Las Vegas scene which includes The Cab and Panic); Muse also has a tie in to MCR via the Recent Tour of Food Poisoning plus Wembley.

I'm pretty sure that it's entirely possible to play Six degrees of Pete and Patrick and cover at least 90% of the current popular musical world.

ETA: I mostly add all this stuff because if I write a cracked out AU? I am *way* more likely to include Kanye West and Butch Walker than I am to include TAI or Cobra Starship.

Yes. And I do appreciate the flow-chart. It reminds me a little of the one somebody made of the DCU's canon sexcapades.

Somewhere, somebody's made a flowchart of the rumoured hookups within the bandboys, haven't they?

Heeee. I do not know if there is a flow chart for it, darling. But there's Mikey Way/Pete Wentz (also known as the Summer of Like or Sweet Little Dudes. See also the FOB song "Bang the Doldrums," which is rumored to be about that relationship); Bert McCracken from the Used/Gerard Way (supposedly the Used song "Pretty Handsome Awkward" is about Gerard); Ryan Ross/Pete Wentz (which, uh, Pete calls Sleepover Princes or something); pretty much any time William Beckett (TAI) and/or Travis McCoy (GCH) and/or Gabe Saporta (CS) have been within touching distance; and Frank Iero/Gerard Way (sometimes there is kissing with tongue).
