while I love Star Wars as much as the next...uh, nerd, IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU SHOULD BE FEATURING ON "MODERN MARVELS" BECAUSE OF HOW IT IS SCIENCE FICTION AND NOT SCIENCE FACT.
Fact #2: Not even Samuel L. Jackson could keep the last three installments from putting the cra back in crap.
Fact #3: Han Solo=ohyeah.
It's not much of a list, I know. Maybe the originally-scheduled documentary on modern marvels didn't arrive in time, and they just popped in the first DVD they saw on someone's desk?
IDEK. I was flipping through channels and then there were podracers and some dude talking about how George Lucas went on and on and on about it forever and then they talked about carbonite and how the freezing part was okay science but the thawing was not and I seriously sat there going, "Wait, what? History Channel, I think you have MISUNDERSTOOD YOUR MANDATE OF TALKING ABOUT HISTORY."
I think, based off of like, two minutes where they discussed robots, that it's supposed to be about how Star Wars was inspiring or something. Except they mostly just talked about the AT-ATs and how they wouldn't replace wheeled vehicles. I don't even know.
I don't have the History Channel, but I do have experience at biting my tongue when I see stupid. Wait, that sounds like I'm good at it. What usually happens is I bite my tongue, then spray bloody froth when I yell, "Are you serious? Do you actually believe what you're saying?"
There was some special they were doing once on, honestly I can 't remember but it was something I covered in like FOURTH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES witha trip to the Peabody Museum and, well, we went to that museum a lot.
And I knew, knew, they weren't even using the right IMAGES from the museum. We went at least twice if not three times a year in elementary school for some subject or other. I had to sit through the tours A LOT plus take the "special" educational tours. Let alone the times I went on non school related ventures. My mother was very good at finding educational programs to send me off places so she didn't have to deal with me. And given my memory sucks, but omg, THAT I KNEW WAS WRONG WRONG WRONG.
I still seethe and whatever program it was was a long long time ago.
