Does anyone have strong opinions on electric ranges?

I'm looking at either the Maytag or the Kenmore double oven electric range, and cannot decide which one is better.

Maytag! http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02260419000P?vName=Appliances&cName=Ranges&sName=Freestanding

Kenmore! http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02298019000P?vName=&cName=&sName=&mv=cmp

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures! Up next it is the Washing Machine Showdown.

I have no opinions on electric ranges except that gas is vastly superior if you can get it. Oh, and make sure your drip pans fit properly and don't tilt your burners. (Former landlord >:() However, I do have thoughts on washing machines, having had a front loader, and I will share when needed.

Oooh, what are your opinions on washing machines?

(we do not have an option on gas for the range, sadly, or else I'd be going for that.)

I have had a front loader and I *loved* it. To me, if you have to buy a new washer, it's well worth the extra money for the amount of water and drying time saved per load (dropped at least 20 minutes of drying time off each load). I didn't really notice that the load size was smaller than in a traditional washer, but I have always overloaded my washing machines. However, if your washer is not going to be in the basement or on some sort of solid floor, you may want to consider a traditional. We ended up with the front-loader because our landlord found that on the second floor of an older house, the thing vibrated really really badly, even after attempting to balance it.

I am fail at cooking related things but for washers/dryers, as outrageously pricey as it was, I love what we got.

I can has both?

I second the front loading washing machine vote: they're water saving and efficient.

We were definitely looking at getting the front loading kind for the water/energy efficiency factors; also 'cause they just look cool.

We're on the ground floor and it's pretty flat, so hopefully it won't make too much noise.

:D We looked at the steam washers/dryers too, but honestly, we wear jeans and t-shirts 99% of the time and I would rather get a spiffy oven and refrigerator, since we're probably going to pay more attention to food than to laundry.

I wish I was made of money. Sigh.

:D That's pretty much what we're going for. I just need to decide on the balance between price and Really Cool Stuff to decide which of those I want before the Laundry Cage Match starts.
