things i wish existed
Jan. 16th, 2009 01:52 pmI wish there were a pandora for books.
...alternately, i wish pandora would see that I like Muse and Nina Simone and Robert Johnson and give me some wacky, unknown progressive yet minimalist blues band fronted by a female singer. Maybe with backup scary British guy wailing in the background. DON'T JUDGE ME, OKAY.
um. you know. or maybe it could be co-fronted by pstump (i love you pstump and your a capella thingawhatsit on Folie a Deux).
I'm enjoying 40,000 in Gehenna quite a lot and I'm about half way through, now. Um. One thing that I've noticed through both books (Merchanter's Luck and this one) is this weird...distance between me as reader and the characters. Which may just be me, but it's kind of hmm-inducing. I like Ma Pia a lot, though.
Also, if I could find more songs a la Nina Simone's "Be My Husband" or the a capella thingawhatsit on Folie A Deux, that would be awesomesauce.
One day, I will tell you all the story of Tupac the Vampire Slayer and Dexter Holland: Crazy Scientist Against Vampires Eating Him.
