Everything went down and then I scrambled trying to find other places to put them and failed. So here's what *did* manage to get put back up:

Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Hallelujah - wmv, 8.08 mb (YSI link)
  • Consequence Free - wmv, 8.12 mb Hmm. This one is being a bitch.
  • Tango - rm, 3.14 mb *stares at the file* Well. Okay. I guess. It seems to be working.

    Lord of the Rings
  • The Rohirric Vid of Dorkitude Blaze of Glory - rm, 14.2 mb
  • oh, hell.

    Stargate: Atlantis
  • Lapdance - wmv, 8.15 mb
  • Oh, hell x2.

Lapdance, via MegaUpload (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IWQ4MW09). I'm not sure if megaupload.com is your upload service of choice, but they seem to allow for more downloads.

I am so incredibly fond of this vid - the music choice itself is wonderful, and all the amazing timing and movement.. just, all of that. I'm a bit sleepy and incoherent, sorry. *grin*

I'd try to help with the rest, but that's all I have on my machine. I hope your hosting problems clear up, I know that's a big pain.

Ooh, danke. I apologize for taking so long to get back to you, but I really appreciate that. For whatever reason, every time I tried to upload anything, I got an error message.

And I am glad you liked the vid. It has Ronon! and NERD! and there is very little bad in that combination.

Yeesh. That sucks. Let me know if you want me to try to upload anything; I have Tango, Consequence Free, and Blaze of Glory on this computer, and Lapdance somewhere on my external HD.

Heh, danke. I only knew that it had all gone pear-shaped when you and a few others mentioned it. It should (hopefully) be resolved in the next few days, so everything will be back up then.

Are you needing webspace to host them? 'Cause I've got oodles of space and bandwidth and I'm more than willing to share...

I do! But I will hopefully have that all taken care of by this weekend. Thank you, though.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro mentioned that you were having trouble getting your vid compressed. I don't know if that's still the case, but if so, maybe I could assist?

I've gotten good results with VirtualDub and encoding to Xvid (but compatible with divx). There's a tutorial about how to do this here (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/xvid.html).

In any case, good luck, and I look forward to seeing your vid. :-)

Heee. I have that tutorial and I am using it, but the problem is that I know what *I* consider a reasonable size for download but I don't know what Everyone Else considers a reasonable size and so I am flailing.

What is considered a reasonable download size and resolution?

No expert here, but I think vid sizes are moving up, and there are still people on dialup who wish they weren't.

What I'm doing now is providing two sizes, one big (say 20-30 Mb) and one small (10Mb or less). I've had comments from people on dialup, who need two or three hours to download a 7Mb file, but who were grateful that that filesize was available. It's a wrench, because small is so much less pretty, but there ya go. *g*

Personally, though, I'd download a vid up to 50 Mb, and if it was from a reputable vidder I'd go higher.
