to Sci Friday H8Rchat! fox1013, jennyo, and I spend every Friday night during the West Coast airings of Sci Friday in chat together. And for the finales, we thought we'd open it up to um, other people. Who maybe feel the same way we do about the Sci Friday shows. Which is mostly that we are so totally not watching either of the Stargates for (a) shipping or (b) sense and are instead watching those shows for (a) the hilarity and (b) watching the Atlantis people get their comeuppance for being shady, shady bastards. We do take BSG a little more seriously but you know, we're also the ones who've decided that Roslin's theme song might well be "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp."

Well, mostly when I say crazyshipping, it is the Jack/Daniel, Kara/Lee, McKay/Sheppard that I am talking about. As um. The h8 cabal is not on board any of those trains.

The weird thing with SGA is that I adore McKay/Sheppard mostly because the fanfic is so damn good, but on the show I continually want to beat Sheppard's head in and shove McKay at Zelenka and make them have mad crazy scientist sex.

The fic is good, but I've totally reached a point where I'm so completely unable to see it *on the show* that the McKay/Sheppard fic just reads as OOC for me and so I have pretty much stopped reading it. It's very sad and it makes it hard to be in the fandom.

Admittedly, I've only seen the first season in its entirety and the conclusion of the finale, and am in the process of downloading all of the second right now. I only got into the fandom a month or so ago. The slash is much easier to see in the first season, I think, although I've had extensive spoilers for season two, but most of the fic I have bookmarked is season one or post-Siege, and is now AU. But really good. It is entirely possible, though, that I will come out of the second season hating Sheppard and firmly shipping scientists.
