This episode has leather and *addictive space corn*.

Take a moment: addictive space corn.

Also, several hot people in leather.

And yet, SGA is the more crack addled.

...addictive space corn.

goddamn teal'c, you are about as hot as it gets.

That episode is so very cracktastic. And Cameron. Cameron is the geeky fanboy with a gun but Teal'C wins with the eyebrow and the "yes, the white people are crazy but I sort of like them" voice.

Addictive space corn, indeed.

They play off each other so delightfully, those two. Why they haven't yet become the latest Slash Pairing That Ate Fandom, I do not know.

FWIW, though, I'm compiling links to what fic there is for them at http://community.livejournal.com/mitchells_sg1/11765.html .

Ooooh, fic! Thank you!

And they totally should be a Slash Pairing that Ate Fandom, but some things are inexplicable.

Next week, he attempts to deck Cameron to test whether he's really intangible or not.

"...did you even hesitate?"

"I did not!"

Mmm... Teal'c. Teal'c rules.

I kind of want to skip 99% of the early seasons and go straight for Cameron era, but I can't do that, because that's like, 8 seasons of Teal'c I'd miss.

Does Daniel ever stop being whiny annoying emo fuckhead? Like, is there a point at which I won't want to just slap his fucking manpain ass?

No, Daniel never ever stops being a whiny emo fuckhead and you never ever stop wanting to slap him. Ever.

Not only that? But he adds imperialistic dickheadedness to the mix and tosses in sanctimoniousness just for good measure.

But then, I really really hate him like whoa.

Teal'c, however, is gigantically awesome. Also, hot. And way in love with Cameron, and Cameron with him.

I dunno, I think there's a case to be made that over the years, Daniel has successfully transitioned from "whiny" to "bitchy".

I quite like him at times, but only on the basis that he is a lethally-arrogant pseudo-liberal little fuckhead.

That's fair. What stymies me is the notion that I'm not supposed to think that he's a fuckhead at all -- that instead, I'm supposed to like and support his position as being the...let's call it the fair and balanced position of liberality.

Instead, I mostly think that someone should take him out for the good of humanity.

Yes, but we're also apparently supposed to think that Jack and Sam are Twu Wuv, the team dynamics are entirely professional and healthy, the American military is best suited to make decisions on behalf of the rest of the planet, civilians (other than Daniel) are always wrong, foreigners are funny, and white American humans from Earth are much more important than anyone else and also always right.

Clearly, flagrantly ignoring TPTB's intentions is the only way to go *g*.

See, I don't actually have a problem with Jack and Sam (I have such a lack of problem, in fact, that I am pro-Sam/Jack...but I don't know how much of that is me being rabidly anti-Jack/Daniel. 'Cause man, I hate Daniel) and the team dynamics...I don't know. They don't skeeve me though this is possibly because I spend a great deal more time going, "OMG ALIEN SPACE CORN" than paying attention to other things. The *rest* of it skeeves me, but those (plus Daniel!) would be why I stopped watching the show after it left Showtime.

I can buy Sam/Jack if it's written in a way that acknowledges the problems and issues and potential fucked-up-ness, as opposed to treating it as "it'll all be fine once the President gives them permission to marry and have babies because their love is speshul" romance.

Which, come to think of it, is pretty much my stance with Jack/Daniel, too.

I'm not skeeved per se by the team dynamics (unlike the politics), I just think they're all so over-involved with each other that quite possibly none of them are capable of having a relationship outside the team anyway. Which is probably understandable under the circumstances, but not exactly how a military unit is supposed to operate.

I spend a great deal more time going, "OMG ALIEN SPACE CORN" than paying attention to other things.

An eminently sensible strategy.
