Saw this recced all over the place (entirely deservedly). Excellent from both a technical and aesthetic point of view, and the song is just perfect for Gunn.

wow, wow, wow. i think i started holding my breath at about the two-minute mark—no, probaby two and a half, at the start of the last verse—and then starting at 2:32, when he flings out his arms at the first jesus walks for them, i just started leaning closer and closer to the monitor, it was so tight from then right to the end. all your clip selection was just awesome, and i love the split-second intercuts starting at 3:18 as much as i love the way you set the tone in the very beginning, with gunn running with the axe and raising his arms over his head and that winged demon, and you just matched *everything* to the music so perfectly, all the way through. the only thing i'm not sure was successful is the clip at 1:08, between the gasps, but i can't tell if that was your effect or the show's. the framing with i'll fly away is really cool, but the transitions felt rushed. a lot less rushed by my third viewing though, so i don't know. the fade-out was great. and then i turned around and watched it again. and again. and again.

i watched maybe the first and second seasons of angel and then gave up on it—right around the time darla came back, whenever that was. and gunn was always cool, but this gunn is AMAZING. this vid leads me to believe the show could be worth watching just for him, that at the very least he must have drastically raised the level of the show. other things i took away from this vid are 1) gunn is a gorgeous man, good lord, and 2) he and wesley are—yeah. YEAH.

WOW. Just WOW. Dozens of people have already told you this, but this is one amazing vid. It is such a pleasure to see a Gunn vid, and to such a great song -- I love Kanye. The editing and the use of motion (coming partly from the title, I would guess) are superb. I've watched it three times in a row so far. This is just amazing -- one of the best Angelverse vids I've ever seen. You should be v proud of it.

This vid is just astonishing, such a perfect choice of song and clips. It's left me breathless every time I've watched it since the Escapade DVDs arrived. There are so few Gunn songvids and yet he's such as astonishing, complex, fascinating character. You've captured so much of the hurricane he was swept up into on 'Angel' and all he went through and endured trying to do the right thing. This is just a beautiful thing you've given to the Gunn fans and thank you a million times for it.

I found this vid via femmenerd's freaking enormous vid recs post, and was so impressed I had to comment. What an incredible look at Gun's life on Angel! I haven't seen all of Angel - just a couple of eps here and there, though I'm a total Buffy fan, but this vid was really easy to follow and very moving. I especially liked the use of I'll Fly Away in the beginning; nice transition.
Also, I have to say, I loved the clip of Angel and Cordy at the line "the way Kathy Lee needed Regis" *giggle. Ok, I'll stop gushing now, and just say thanks for the lovely distraction!
