Awww, I love him and his fucked up issue-having self! This is largely helped by what appears to be his lack of self-delusions! He knows he is fucked up! He has accepted it! He loves his daughter! And his not-brother! And his not-sister! And his really-not-a-dad! He beans people in the head with soup cans! This makes him *awesome*.

Possibly I should go eat something as I am all shaky and vaguely lightheaded.

You know, it must be pointed out that despite the frequent voicing of angst by the younger generation, they basically usually do get their shit done, which to me is the ultimate distinction between the brooders and the manpain addicts. Unlike certain first-generation people I could mention!

I will say this for reading DCU: it has helped me figure out where my lines regarding excessive manpain and my own tolerance lie. Existence of manpain = okay! Excessive wallowing in and asshattedness as a result of said manpain = works my last nerve! It is a good thing to know about myself.
