No deleted scenes on the DMC 2-disc?

...well, that's $20 I won't be spending. I loved the Norrington movie, but I didn't love it enough to spend essentially $1/minute.

I want it for the commentary, but the lack of deleted scenes fills me with sadness.

One commentary, by T&T.

Yeah, no. I was apparently really spoiled by the CotBP two disc with the bloopers *and* the making ofs *and* the deleted scenes *and* three commentary tracks.

So...I think I will just wait until the inevitable re-release of a super special edition. Besides, if I want to vid it, I can just rent it and rip it.

Oh, DMC. What's really sad? I bought CotBP twice and had no problems spending that money and yet I cannot even be buggered to get DMC once.

...oh, renting and ripping. I had not thought of this. *rubs hands together evilly*

I want another JackDav commentary! I loved his commentary with Keira. And deleted scenes! And and and!

Man, how lame is it gonna be if it turns out they don't give us any deleted scenes with him in 'em when the Inevitable Super-Special Edition (tm you) comes out?

So lame. Which is why I will let other people vet the dvd before I buy it :)

I saw CotBP at least five times in the theater. Granted, three of those were at the $3 theater but still. I ahd the dvd on preorder. I couldnt' be bothered in the least with DMC, even as much as I liked the Norrington parts. (And then there are also some bad associations of a completely unrelated issue with the movie too) If someone gets it for me for Christmas that's fine, but I'm not going out of my way. Especially if the extras are crap. *sigh*

I just don't understand how they're calling it a Special Edition. Because seriously? If I can get a making of, a blooper reel, and a commentary on, say, Raptor? I'm not going to accept that as a Special Edition from *Disney* on a movie that made them insane amounts of money. Grar.

Yeah, I can't even imagine buying DMC. Even if the special edition comes out, I'll just borrow it from a friend.

Even watching the "Mastering the Blade" thing made me sad for good character development.

Everytime you watch DMC, a character development plot bunny dies.

Just kidding. ;)

See, I'm willing to buy it because I am a completist, but I am not willing to buy it more than once like I did the first one. And I'm sure that there's something I can do with DMC because I genuinely liked the Norrington movie, but it just wasn't a good enough *movie* overall for me to justify buying it, especially if the special edition isn't very special.

This is all just very irritating.

The extras disc and the documentary features are good for one thing - you find out that Jack is crappy at swordplay, but everybody loves him. Like, LOVES HIM.

I'm hoping for a LOTS of extras in the sooper dooper extra special extravaganza edition that will no doubt come out next Christmas. Hey, Warner Bros. doubled the price for extras on the last Harry Potter movie and Disney certainly can't come in behind the WB when it comes to eeking that extra shilling out of the masses.

*G* Pretty much yes, I am waiting for the inevitable box set. Stupid commercialism.

Is there a non-2 disc set that costs less? Because I'll buy that. (I have a lot of gift cards from my b-day.)

There is the regular version, which is about $10 less and that has no special features on it.

The marketing on this dvd is the single most insulting thing to come out of Disney since...well, since this summer and the glories of Racism Island.

Yeah, I was planning on buying the regular version, but mom told me someone's getting me the two disc set for Christmas.

I have a copy downloaded, and I made my own cut of the movie. It's about an hour long, and contains no cannibals. That whole subplot was ridiculously easy to edit out. Also, very little Davy Jones, even though I love Bill Nighy. I just didn't feel the need to watch Will get the key when he summarizes the whole shebang on Isla Cruces quite nicely.
