OH NATHAN, HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME?



First: I am not going to talk about Eccleston as I have Who-issues and also he didn't do much but be manic and greasy. So, you know, whatever.

That said!

OMG NATHAN HOW ARE YOU SO FUCKING AWESOME? I *love* Nathan Petrelli. Love him love him love him. I love his shadiness and his love for his family and his inability to be a dark, shady motherfucker around Hiro, and that weirdly menacing I Totally Bet He'll Put A Cap In Peter To Save The World Holy Crap I Love Him SO Much Because Nathan Is Awesome moment in front of the burning man painting. I. LOVE. Him. I did not expect to love Nathan *this* much when I first started watching the show because he is shady like a mofo and also Adrian Pasdar who will always and forever come off a little bit crazy to me (oh, Profit. Oh...show where he was a miracle debunker), but I do! I love how *complicated* he is and how practical and how...cranky. I know, I know, it is a shock that I love me some cranky pragmatic capable hotness, but we all have our crosses to bear.

And I love BEYOND WORDS how Nathan and Hiro are together. I love how unflagging Hiro's enthusiasm is and I love how Nathan is charmed by Hiro despite himself. I love that Hiro *knows to tone it down* and that he does and yet he still goes "Whoosh!" I love that Nathan can't be closed off and cold around Hiro. I LOVE THAT HIRO IS THE GUY NATHAN ACTUALLY ASKS TO EXPLAIN THINGS. LOVE! I just. Dude. Dude! *flail* And I loved the whole exchange about language. God, I just *love* them. If Hiro and Ando weren't so totally married, I would *completely* be 'shipping Hiro/Nathan.

Which brings us to Hiro (and his hetero lifemate, Ando). Um. Oh, boo. Other than the scene with Nathan (and I sekritly believe that Nathan will always be a favorite of Hiro's because HE CAN FLY. Up, up, and away! EEEEE!), mostly what I loved was Hiro's dejected little shoulders as he returned the sword to the museum. Awww, Hiro! Oh, oh, I also adored his "I look like the drawings! Except my face is not so round."

And yo, Simone. Okay, I *like* her. She was mostly useless for 10 eps and then she did awesomeness with the support and enabling of Peter in "Homecoming", and then she just *rolled* with the crazy. Yay Simone! And she was totally all, "Yeah, let's go get your sword, boo." She is totally gonna be a Lois or Alfred or such to the Heroes and that makes me happy. Unless she dies, in which case I shall be sad.

Isaac was hot, Mohinder was hot even in that so-hideous-it-almost-circled-back-to-cool shiirt, DL/Niki/Jessica/Micah is the family unit of awesome, Clea Duvall was smoking hot, Grunberg was Grunbergalicious, and dude, seriously, how amazingly hot was Stacey Haiduk?

Claire was...Claire. And determined and lonely and proactive and awesome and *fierce* in her own way. I love her too! I love that she told Gay Zach again. I love that she wants that friendship badly enough. And *holy fuck*, I love that she's meeting with the Haitian. Also, I love the Haitian, 'cause *goddamn*.

I *love* this show. Even when it is not a tightly plotted as it can be ("Godsend" is no "Fallout" or "Homecoming"), the whole show is built on this increadily rock solid layer of character moments that make it all okay. EEEEE! My show! My show! It loves me!


I use my Peter icon until I can come up with a Nathan icon I love.

Well, he is as close to irresistible fuzziness as a man can be without being the least bit fuzzy. But did you see him? Simone's like, "okay, let's go get your sword!" and even Nathan, who's like, "powers are stupid and made my wife paralyzed!" is charmed by him. So maybe.

I think Hiro and Micah geeking out would be the best thing ever.

Dude, I know! And like, I never ever doubted that he loves Peter. But a) it's an entire city and b) *Peter* doesn't want to be the bad guy.

I fell in love with Nathan when he first met Hiro, and I really love him now. Their scene together was awesome. I don't understand why there's not more Hiro slash out there, since he has fabulous chemistry with pretty much everyone.

So, word on that, and most of the other stuff as well. :-)

Seriously, I vote that Hiro and Nathan get at least one scene toegher in every episode: it'll automatically raise the coolness quotient of the show.

And Simone has really grown on me: she really has rolled with the craziness, and her can-do attitude reminds me a little of Hiro (which automatically means that I'll glom to her).

Watched it last night with i_kender:
BF: See, you're a Nathan girl and I'm a Peter gir - I mean Peter boy - and I don't like Nathan. Why do you like Nathan?
Me: Because Nathan seems like a slimy bad guy but he really isn't. You know if Peter starts to go nuclear in front of him, he's going to grab him and fly them both up into the sun - BROTHERLY LOVE GO BOOM. Plus, I like his pointy, pointy head.
BF: Ok, spot check - who's hotter, Simone or Niki? *pause for both of us to admit that we fancy every single female character in Heroes*

Also we had a huge debate over a character who hit on Weir in SG:A. By 'debate', I mean 'my rant about how creepy he was went on for twenty minutes and had historical footnotes'
