Fandom Curiosity Meme: What fandom are you surprised I'm not into? What fandom do you think is tailor-made for me and you can't believe I don't watch the show/fic it till my fingers fall off from typing/squeerelentlessly about it?

Alternately, what fandom of mine surprises the crap out of you? If any.

Or, you know, whatever. Bored! want talkiness!

Sometimes I think about changing my default icon. And then I have a bizarre identity crisis and the urge passes for a couple more years.

Hi. *wave* I don't really have any talkiness in me tonight. Nor cures for boredom. Just, hi. :)

*g* I am so afraid to watch Homicide! Everyone says I will love it! *Everyone*. What if I don't? What if I SOMEHOW LET EVERYONE DOWN OMG.

Seriously. I have like, weird performance anxiety about it.

I should specify that out of all your fandoms that I know of, Grey's Anatomy doesn't quite fit into the pattern.

*g* Grey's Anatomy hits a surprising number of my fictional bulletproofs, though I can see how it doesn't seem to fit.

1) It's a racially and gender diverse show that is queer friendly (yes, even with all the hoohah about Isaiah Washington). This is a big thing for me.
2) It's funny without being smug.
3) I have a *serious* thing for professional competence and whatever else is true about the doctors and interns at Seattle Grace Hospital, they are *good* at their jobs.
4) I *heavily* identify with George O'Malley.
5) I want to be Miranda Bailey when I grow up.
6) There's a smoking hot redhead.
7) At the end of the day, romance and sexual shenanigans aside, what I *love* about Grey's Anatomy are the interns. And more specifically, I love that their relationships with each other are complicated and stressful and not always the best things ever, but if one of them needs any of the rest of them, the interns will close ranks and throw down for each other. I um, I like groups of friends a lot. It is one of my things.

I...ok. Jackass surprises me *a little*. I haven't actually seen it, though, so I can't really be intelligent about why, but mostly my impression of Jackass is "boys doing stupid things" and I would have thought you would need more girls, and...drama, maybe? I DON'T KNOW I AM AWASH IN A SEA OF CONFUSION.

*giggle* Confusion on the sudden and somewhat inexplicable love of Jackass is totally okay because yes, girls! Girls are awesome! And the boys really are just *incredibly* stupid at times. But!

The guys of Jackass are, by and large, the type of outcast geekboy skaters that populated my circle of friends in swim team and in marching band. I *know* these guys. I grew up and was best friends with these guys. And for all that they are dumb and for all that they are fond of the incredibly low humor, they still have those moments where you bond over like, stupid Star Wars trivia or one of them will bust out a movie line that you like a lot and you start giggling and you can't stop.

Also? I really like the whole thing where they'll do something incredibly stupid, get hurt, laugh it off, and then go and do something even stupider. It's like stoicism through dumb boyness.

I don't know. They appeal to me on that level where they are good natured anarchist geekboys who like to break things and blow shit up for laughs. I...like dudes. Like, pretty much that is it. I like it because the guys of Jackass are the guys who made (and continue to make) me laugh with their wacky shenanigans.
