goluxexmachina and I had what is maybe one of the most fascinating fannish conversations I've ever had last night. And in it, we talked about girl!Andy, went from there to Fall Out Girl, and went from *there* into like, an hour long...thing made of squee and delight and hilarity and like, soul crushing depression where we were coming up with the girl!musical world. Toni Kiedis, Rae Charles, Ellis Fitzgerald, Louisa Armstrong, girl!Kanye West, girl!Tupac, girl!Bowie, etc. And it was *awesome*, because um, seriously, just. Awesome. Delight and squee and hilarity! And then the soul crushing depression because: why don't we live in that world? Why are the numbers *so skewed*? Curt Love and Kourtney Cobain. It was. Yeah.

And what was maybe most interesting about the whole thing to me was that flipping that gender from male to female helped me get a handle on how I want to characterize boy!Andy in the wacky mutant AU. It gave me an in to Andy-as-character that I just hadn't had before which is, maybe, the first time that's ever happened with crack for me. Like, normally I go from Having a Grasp of Characterization to the extrapolation of that in a crackverse. But yeah, I have a good idea now of how to handle everyone and where Andy's coming from and Joe and just. That's exciting. And a good reminder of why I'm in fandom.

Anyway. That was all. Plus girl!Andy's still totally hot.
