I think I am going to just update this one post for Live Earth stuff, though I reserve the right to make a new post for Kanye West and Fall Out Boy.

Tokyo
Linkin Park: ...Dude, I like Linkin Park SO MUCH MORE when Chester is singing and not screeching. And Mike Shinoda's looking really good. whoa, hey there, is it bad that watching Mike Shinoda play multiple instruments makes me think he's like, infinitely hotter? And I already thought he was pretty awesome. Also their drummer and guitarist are both smokin' hot. Wow, we're back to Linkin Park. WTF, Live Earth. They are still being awesome and I still like Chester better with the singing. AHAHAHAHA YOU ARE SO EMO, CHESTER BENNINGTON. I mock you!

Rihanna: I'm not sure how I feel about Rihanna's outfit, but uh, now I kinda want to go buy her album. This would largely be why I am watching -- ALICIA KEYS HI HI HI YOU ARE GORGEOUS and awww Ellen Degeneres I heart you -- this concert today. I want to find new music! Because music is awesome! I am still dubious on the outfit. I am enjoying her set a lot, though.

Xzibit: ROCKIN'! Though I fully expect to see the guys from the custom shop show up to pimp out someone's car.

Eco-fashion and beauty products: Mission Playground. vegan shoes? Kiss My Face, Aveda, Everyman Jack.

Was Duff always this annoying?

London
OOOOOH DRUMMING. I like drumming! Seriously, I am not a girl who will usually buy new age or world music cds, but if anyone can point me toward awesome drumming, I would be most grateful. Because seriously. DRUMS.

Genesis: Yeah, I'm not a fan. So I will take this opportunity to start cleaning my closet. Genesis again? Meh.

Snow Patrol: AWWW SMILES! I totally like Snow Patrol despite myself. What's with the arms up? Dude. Okay, seriously, guys in the pit, what's with the jumping up and down? I have a hard time believing that you can mosh well to Snow Patrol. Especially to "Chasing Cars." I'm really glad I bought this album. It's totally one of my favorites.

Black Eyed Peas: I have to admit, I am not a big fan of Fergie's. But dude! Will.I.Am! Oh, BEP.

John Legend: Beautiful, classy, and immensely talented. *hearts him* Seriously, I love "Ordinary People." It's just such a lovely, lovely song. OH HEY. MERCY MERCY ME? REALLY? I LOVE YOU, JOHN LEGEND.

Duran Duran: WOO!

David Gray: In Music Fight Club, I'm pretty sure Ryan Adams and David Gray were one of the fights. I don't think it would be a very good fight, though. Hello, I do not like David Gray or Ryan Adams very much. Or Damian what's his face.

RHCP: HI FLEA! HI JOHN FRUSCIANTE! HI HI HI! Anthony Kiedis, you cannot sing but I forgive you for being -- WHAT IN THE FUCK ARE YOU WEARING? -- the least talented member of your band. Seriously, RHCP got insanely lucky in terms of its members because Flea! John Frusciante! One of rock's best bassists *and* one of rock's best guitarists? Seriously. Fucking lucky. Holy cow, Chad Smith really does look like Will Ferrell. That's uncanny. HI JOHN FRUSCIANTE AND FLEA. ROCK THE FUCK OUT, GUYS! (sorry, I've been a RHCP fan for...uh. A long, long time. 15 years? I think about 15 years. In my head, they're all tangled up with me falling for Nirvana and Pearl Jam and whatnot back in 92.

Corinne Bailey Rae: Yes please! More!

Keane: *snerk* I totally own an album by them. But they do make me giggle.

Metallica: *gives them the finger* Yes, I'm still holding a grudge about the music downloading thing. It makes me sad, because I really love And Justice For All and the Black Album, but yeah. I will pretty much be goddamned before I actually buy anything of theirs.

Shanghai
12 Girls Band = AWESOME.

Antarctica
Nunatak: Hee! Scientist rock stars! They're not very good, but there are penguins! And they're all dressed for antarctica! Which is adorable!

Hamburg
Shakira - Mmmmm hips. Not loving the english language singing, though. Good lord, she's beautiful. And has a sparkly pink guitar.

Snoop Dog: It's the D-O-Double G! OH SNOOP. I HAVE LOVED YOU SINCE THAT VIDEO WHERE YOU TURNED INTO A DOBERMAN. Also, that is some kinda gold chain you're rockin' there.

Washington DC
Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood : Uh. Not my favorite. Back to cleaning my closet!

Johannesburg
Soweto Gospel Choir + Danny K - Gospel choir = awesome! Drumming = awesome! Who is Danny K?

Carson Daly, you are a TOOL.

OMG AMY AMY AMY AMY! THERE'S GOING TO BE A ZOMBIEWALK IN SAN DIEGO DURING COMIC CON.

Man, I thought that this whole thing where I drank the bandom koolaid (which phrase I steal from [livejournal.com profile] arallara) would wear off. BUT NO. NO. PATRICK MOFO STUMP SERIOUSLY, HOW DO YOU JUST GET HOTTER? (the bling was from Jay Z? REALLY? REALLY? *HEART*)

So, I am watching some of the Live Earth footage and going, "Yeah, okay, but I would not pay to see them in concert." Apparently, my requirements for concert going are: 1) Being able to jump up and down excitedly and flail around in an uncoordinated and potentially injurious manner, 2) Being able to scream myself hoarse, 3) Being able to dance spazzily and not be judged for it, 4) Not being able to hear for about the first hour afterwards, 5) I should be sore (in the good way) the next day

Apparently, concert going is the closest I can get to sex nowadays.

Ahahahahahaha!!! Yeah. I hear you. *g* And I haven't even been going to any shows lately, but this makes me think maybe I should. I mean, hey, it would probably do me good to at least approximate the experience of getting laid.

I've been mostly listening to the Live Earth concerts as my dad watches them in the other room. I was totally amused and pleased when he had a break through of sorts while watching Pharrell, and he decided that he really appreciates the influence of hip-hop on popular music because it has such great energy and is "so much more vital" and makes all the blues-based rock acts seem really stodgy and old and boring and dated. That's a big step for him!

Heee! I should totally go to more concerts.

So far the highlights of the entire day have been Kanye, Bon Jovi, and Alicia Keys. And, you know, for me there was also FOB.

Actually, Bon Jovi's set just finished and it was AMAAAAAAZING. So, YAY!

Oh god, Mike Shinoda is seriously hot like burning. And playing multiple instruments only makes me hotter for him.

I adore drum music (I tend to say I *hear* rhythm more than melody, and definitely more than harmony) but I seem to own very little of it which is a shame, I'll head off torrent-wards afterwards I think! I have one track from Jazz on a Summer's Day which has the most amazing drum solo, and I have Weapons of Sound which isn't drum music *as such*, it's bins and tubes and you know, waste type stuff.

... and now I need to Youtube for the Panic! drumline clips!

Heee! My favorite drum solo ever has to be the one in "Sing Sing Sing." It's not the most technically brilliant one, but it's phenomenal and awesome and then we sort of wander into prog metal for Danny Carey of Tool and some others.

I use my drummer otp icon! Patrick! ?uestlove! DRUMMERS FTW!

I really need to find some music that's nothing but drums. Maybe some taiko stuff, but I'm not sure.

... and now I need to retrieve Lugg the external drive and see if I have Sing Sing Sing don't I? ::contemplates stairs:: Maybe later!

I have to ask - how the hell do you pronounce ?uestlove?!

I really want to hear a drum off between Bob and Andy and Spencer and Patrick, duelling banjoes with drums!

I'm attempting to download some Kodo drummers stuff but the torrent is moving at the vast speed of 1 0KBps so it's taking a while. Ah well, I shall be stubborn and just leave it overnight to ... perculate?!

Hee, it is pronounced Questlove. He is the drummer for the hip hop group The Roots. He is made of awesomeness. I suspect that's why Patrick and Andy look so happy in that picture with him.

And yes! There should totally be a drum off while all the other guys sit around and go, "Drummers are really hot, aren't they?" and they just watch the flailing and intense concentration with great appreciation.
