I am totally stealing this from girlneedsagun, because OMG BEST THING EVER: Panic! at the Disco is set to record a cover of *NSYNC's "Space Cowboy" featuring Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. Several other bands will be involved in the recording of this cover album of pop songs. A release date has not been set.

I totally feel the need to bust out MSG or PopOdyssey now just to revel in the awesomeness that is Space Cowboy. The only way it would be better is if like, FOB covered Britney. Because seriously, y'all, how hilariously awesome would Patrick singing ...Baby, One More Time be? Or oooh! Toxic!

That. Uh. Patrick singing "Toxic." There would be falsetto. And. Yeah, that's totally a happy place.

Are there specific sacrifices to evil powers I would have to make to get that going?

(yes, in fact, I do own Britney's Greatest Hits and I love it without reservation.)

It SO WOULD. I mean, I have a deep and abiding love of guy rock bands covering Britney songs anyway (Travis doing "Baby, One More Time!" Local H doing "Toxic!") and just the thought of Patrick singing it makes me all happy.

I'm all for Brit covers- I'm thinking that "Lucky" would be a good one- dreadful song, but "Her name is Lucky, she's a stary" has an element that would work nicely.

I am excited about Travis being anywhere near Space Cowboy. I guess he will be doing Left Eye's rap, which will be…quirky and strange. I mean, it was quirky and strange when Left Eye did it, and I can't imagine it will be less so when Travis does.
