I love bandom like I love you popslash. I would love you more if there weren't times when Kanye West is referred to as some hip hop guy. !!!! IT'S KANYE WEST. There are a couple people I think you should be able to identify on sight in terms of modern (pop) cultural relevance, and *especially* so in something like bandom, and Kanye West is one of them.








Oooh, and while I'm at it. The diamond? Is not an FOB thing. Please stop thinking it is. Obviously this isn't directed at everyone, but I've seen it enough that it makes me nuts. The diamond is a Roc-a-fella Records thing that FOB has adopted because THEY ARE FRIENDS WITH JAY-Z. Also because I'm betting most of their audience knows what it is. Anyway. Jay-Z.

Thank you for this post!! I have seen Kanye referred to as some hip hop guy and that is just sad. Same with the diamond. I was like Jay-Z must be somewhere shaking his head. :)

I do not even know -- are these people living under rocks? I mean, I was thrilled when Lupe Fiasco showed up to the Chicago HCT show I was at, but I had to explain who he was to people. Um.

Of course, these are the same fans who don't what a "canary in a coal mine" means and probably have never heard of Francis Bacon, so I should not be STARTLED BY THEIR IGNORANCE.

What would be the best time to stop in and grab tickets? I'm not sure how long we'll stay Friday, depends on the panels. I have RAGE at Blizzard I still can't play but um, no I haven't called tech support. Mostly because IT MAKES NO SENSE.

It really doesn't.

I'm pretty sure somehow its my computer but I don't want to wipe the entire harddrive (though I probably will after Blizzcon)
