Today is a Superman day, I think. Mostly what this means is jeans + super logo shirt + black hoodie + glasses. Now I just need to find my blue super logo shirt (black or pink w/rhinestones? totally know where they are. Traditional blue? No idea.)

Did I ever talk here about the Superman Returns story I really want to write? Where everyone thinks that Clark is gay and so they keep setting him up with people and Richard sets him up with one of the sports writers and they go out and the guy that Clark is out with is like, "So." and Clark is like, "I'm not gay," in this kind of apologetic, I-kinda-wish-I-were-'cause-you-seem-really-nice way, and the guy is like, "Uh huh, look, do you want to talk about stuff? I'm a good listener and you seem like you've got something on your mind." and clearly the guy is thinking, "Whoa, closet" and Clark is thinking, "I can hear sirens two miles away what if someone needs me?" and Clark just kind of fidgets and messes with his napkin and looks kind of sad and then he asks, all in a rush, "Why is everyone convinced I'm gay?" and the guy sort of blinks and is like, "Prolly 'cause you're shy and awkward and are in love with Lois--" Clark looks mortified here "and you don't date anyone and no one really knows you at all and oh, right, you act like you've got this really big secret." And Clark is like, "...oh." And the guy thinks for another minute then says, "Plus you keep getting assigned to that Wayne guy when he ends up in town and everyone's kind of--" he does that hand gesture that implies kind-of-iffy "you know about him."

Clark coughs on the sip of water he just took. "People think I'm--" he does the same gesture "--with BRUCE WAYNE?"

So yeah, that's the story I wanted to tell. The story where the Daily Planet thinks that Clark Kent is gay.

Jimmy would be the BEST. He'd try so hard. Because he's Jimmy and he loves Clark just that much and thinks Clark is made of sheer awesomeness. And then Jimmy would kind of sit around and go, "Does this mean I'm gay?" and he would do a lot of soul searching and staring at Clark with his heart on his sleeve and Lois would be all, "Oh, Jimmy," and Perry would just continue to wonder why he was surrounded by crazypeople.

Apparently I need a Jimmy icon and a Perry icon. Because seriously, I love them a lot.

yes, jimmy does love clark. even in sv, once jimmy feels that he and clark can be friends, he tries to set him up with lois, there we go, there *is* a precedent. ::g::

and perry totally is hiding in his office because his staff is trying to fix clark up with people while they should be working on stories, and then he gets up and has to get them back on track..until the next time..

It all happens in the spring and Perry grumbles about it to Richard and Richard just sort of laughs and is like, "Love is in the air." And Perry goes, "The Daily Planet doesn't believe in love!" and then he pauses and goes, "I wonder if there's something to that. I'll get Clark to do a piece on love being in the air. He's the only one of you doing any work."

Meanwhile, Clark is trying to avoid much of this, every time he ventures out from behind his desk, someone makes a helpful suggestion, and even when he does appear to be working, the staff have taken to 'visiting.' Perry thinks that Clark looks a little wide-eyed behind his glasses, but it's hard to tell with him ducking his head industriously to stare at his computer and the work he's doing.
