I'm not gonna lie, you guys, I'm feeling melancholy and I hate it. Distract me? Things that make you happy, things you think will make me happy, interesting cover songs, interesting mashups, awesome pictures, anything.

I just want to be taken out of my head.

blame [livejournal.com profile] thelionforreal for this one:

She provides a link to download Scritti Politti vs Justin Timberlake - "Like I Absolutely Love You" (sendspace) because I did not have it on my harddrive.

And then, 'cause I was telling her about them, 15 mashups that make me giggle inappropriately, right click save.

Nena vs Jay-Z - "99 Luft Problems"

Are you a spider hater? I can't remember. If not, this is pretty cool. No actual spider pictures, just pictures of webs spiders made under the influence of various drugs. Commentary from [livejournal.com profile] jshorb: "I couldn't find the one with bigger pictures

The other one has the talk about marijuana - apparently the spider very slowly and meticulously laid out the beginnings of a web - got distracted and just wandered off."

I'm not on your list (found this via friends of friends), but I love mashups and was going to snag the zip.

Here's a few things that neevr fail to make me grin:

1. Ooh, mashups!

2. Do you have any interest in vids, and if so, do you know the Will and Grace one (I *think* there's only one) and the Bend it Like Beckham one (same)? They're hilarious and warm-n-fuzzy, respectively.

I don't have any track with yousendit, but if you want, I'll send either/both to your lj email.

3. Things that currently make me happy include Bob Bryar as a Russian coach who shoots people (yeah, I don't want to ponder too hard WHY it makes me happy), and a few other bandom stories, but since that's not on the list I assume you don't want fic?

Either way, I hope you feel happier/more distracted, and if hugs from strangers add to your happiness any, have a few of those as well. But not if it's going to make you call the police.

Disclaimer one: I'm on my way to bed and my brain's already shut off, so if all my html tags fail, sorry in advance. Disclaimer two: you probably already know a lot of this things, but hey! Rereading stories can make for happiness too!

Email has failed me, so I only had time to upload one vid: The Paul McCartney Will and Grace vid, by jarrow.

And old classic that you probably know but is worth a reread

Also probably not new to you, everything by bexless, especially the gymnasts AU

CS polaroids

A Peter Pan bandom AU by littlerhymes that's not, I wouldn't say, a happy read (not necessarily *sad*, either, just... creepy?) but definitely distracting, I'd think, and which I found fascinating

Thishas some very funny, and some just generally awesome, bandom recs.

And to finish off, everything mistful writes makes me happy; for example, this post about monsters in books, and this WiP, which, even if you never ever read HP fic, I'd give a try to, because it's hilarious.

A last thing that's currently making me happy, though, frankly, it probably doesn't work that well for other people, is [livejournal.com profile] greenet and mine's realization that if Pete and Gerard are the Crowley and Aziraphale of bandom, fighting over Brendon Young's soul (yes, that part is my fault, no, it doesn't make much sense), then surely the Four Horsemen are the CS supergroup, Panic is the Them, Andy is Madame Tracy, and Bob McCracken is the ex-satanic-nun. (And Hobo is Dog, while Hemmy is the Bentley.) Patrick is, of course, god.

Yay indeed! *Hugs back* I'm glad they were any good, since I really couldn't tell how likely you were to had already seen any of them. Also, I blame sleep deprivation for forgetting to say that the gymnast AU is also by [livejournal.com profile] stereomer.

There are so many absolutely excellent mashups. "Karma in the Life" is fantastic like I have no words for and I love "Intergalactic Friends" with a fiery passion. and "Do Something Supermassive" makes me laugh and laugh.

(via Yousendit)

A mashup of Mission Impossible and Norwegian Wood-no, really!

Another of the Theme from Ghostbusters mashed into Bad by Michael Jackson!

The Cheeky Song by The Cheeky Girls (I have an mp3 of this if you want)

Ding by Seeed (mostly in German, but very catchy).

The Drug Weather Report by Three Dead Trolls In A Baggie.

And finally, April Winchell's giant repository of really bizzare sh*t. I find this endlessly amusing. Some of it is funny, some is painfully bad, and some is kinda scary.
From: [identity profile] kattahj.livejournal.com
Hi! I downloaded the mashups you linked to, hope you don't mind.

Nope-don't mind at all. There are more on April Winchell's page as well. Enjoy!
