...so, I finished reading Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist this morning and I like the plot while wanting to punch Nick and Norah in the face x infinity.

times INFINITY. AND BEYOND. Like, okay, man, if I was that pretentious as a teenager, I don't even want to remember because holy *crap*.

In other news, Patrick Stump is MADE OF PUPPIES AND SUNSHINE AND AWESOMELY ADORABLE DORKTASTIC HOTNESS. paaaaaaatrick! how so awesome?

I can't blame you on the punching. I haven't read that one, but I read another David Levithan book, and hated it with a passion.

The two leads were just insufferably smug and pretentious. It drove me nuts.

Good way to describe his solo stuff - it's very idealistic and deliberately naive, which I think is a bad combination.

They were *impressively* pretentious. And just. There were good parts! But they were so outweighed by how I wanted to punch the leads in the face that I don't even know what to do with it.

FWIW, I've liked the solo stuff by Levithan I've read, and haven't read Cohn.

I...think I am just going to give Levithan a pass. If the Nick parts of the book are any indication, the writing style is going to give me hives.

I have kind of a low tolerance for first person narration. And. Uh. Pretentious hipsters.
