10 things that are awesome about 2007

mimesere1) My job. It's been six months of awesome and I'm excited to go to work every day and I like my coworkers and I love that we dork around and that people say things like, "I don't know what I'm more excited about: the orc or the wolf." Wolves = nerd candy, apparently.
2) My AIM/gtalk/phone crew.
3) Shoes. Specifically chucks.
4) My ipod. I finally named it Patrick. Because it's full of my favorite songs. SHUT UP. I know it is cheesy. I don't care. I'm confused by the refusal to play video, but I'm sure I will figure it out.
5) This was apparently the year I decided concerts = awesome. Prior to this, my concert experience consisted of one outdoor live concert in persian, the Flower Kings at the Wetlands, two *NSYNC concerts during the Celebrity tour, and Britney during Dream Within a Dream. This year, live music was a big part of my social experience and I could not be happier about it.
6) I lost something like fifty pounds.

fox1013, surrounded by geeks and media, good food, tacky booze, stormtroopers pushing strollers, meeting and greeting Gerard Way, getting Summer Glau to sign a mammoth, meeting Richard T Jones, getting ARCs of awesome books. Trailers, t-shirts, IMing from less than five feet away, Dead and Breakfast, awesome waiter dude at Dick's Last Resort, snarking at Joss. It is awesome every year, but this year was fantastic like I don't even have words for. I suspect highly this is because I had an Amy. We listened to music and played stupid games that we bought at the supermarket and bonded with other people in line.
8) Bandom. It's a happy place.
9) Discovering new-to-me music, falling deeper in love with bands/artists, new albums from bands I already love: Butch Walker, Muse, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Lupe Fiasco, the Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, Jimmy Eat World, Kanye West. Lots of music. Lots of happy.
10) I am not...unhappy. I think I'm happy. Let's go with that.
