hey, so, Diablo. That game is not right, you guys. It *freaked my shit out*.

...also I suck at it.

(my computer at home will not run WoW, so I am playing the *other* games my company makes and I figured I'd start with Diablo, since the battlechest for Diablo comes with Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and because uh. I dunno. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Warcraft III and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne look like they require some planning. Ditto Starcraft and the Starcraft expansion. Which is, I suppose, what you get with RTS games. REGARDLESS, I suck.

Also, Diablo is point and click to move? Really? That seems...somewhat less than intuitive.)

So, let's see what else is going on in my exciting dork life. I had a whole conversation today with someone about the Death Knight hero class that's coming up in Wrath of the Lich King. It was very detailed and she kept asking things like, "So, is it something where you have to make a new character of that class or is it something where it can be added onto an existing class?" and my entire response was, "Um. It's...a tank class?" Though I could confidently answer the question of whether it was Alliance or Horde specific (both. death knight = wants to kick arthas' ass.)

Anyway, so I start playing WoW and the first quest is lame like, "Go meet your teacher." Except I failed utterly at finding the teacher dude and went to the next town and got killed by a crab. A winner is me. So we shall see what happens tomorrow. I'm going to make another stab at finding the dude who is supposed to teach me how to suck less.

Also, NO ONE TOLD ME HOW TO PUNCH THINGS IN THE FACE. :(((((

There are so many buttons! and. things! I don't know what to do with it all! But if my wee nephew can make it past level 1, so can I.

See, your WoW posts make me, a) long for proper broadband, and, b) know that if I actually *had* proper broadband I'd probably never leave the house for the sheer delight of punching things in the face.

Diablo always scared the crap out of me - so much so that I can't play it alone. OldSkool Warcraft + Starcraft = love. On the topic of RTSs: have you tried Dungeon Keeper? It is *hilarious*.

I *adore* Dungeon Keeper. I spend most of my time going around slapping my minions for no reason at all. XD And mostly to watch the chickens and imps explode. . .

I was totally unnerved while playing Diablo.

And I remain continually amused by my inability to get WoW to work at home. And I have not tried Dungeon Keeper! But now I will keep a look out for it.

OK, when you log in the first time, there will be a ! over the guy a couple steps from you. You talk to him. He tells you to go find BLANK. If I remember correctly for the troll/orc area BLANK is right by the cave. He'll have a big yellow ? over his head. Quests in the baby zone tend to be easy and straight forward since you have to learn your class and. Well. With me how to walk without getting stuck in trees. Farming quests can get tedious (I cite the previous drop rate of raptor hearts in Arathi pre patch dude-leveling-is-so-much-easier-now! Or the fact pre patch Dave killed over 500 yeti's to get a stupid rod (he had a program that counted how many times he killed something so yeah, it was a lot of yetis.)

Once you finish the baby quests in the baby area you follow the road to the troll village where they give you more harder easy quests and from there Razor...Hill? And from there Org. It's a progression of killing things as you get more experienced.

(After Org its The Barrens, which is tamer than it was but. The Barrens! You also have the option of jumping around if you want to go to the Undead zone or the blood elf area once you get out of Sen jin, Shen jin? Sen jhin? What is that troll town called? Any way, you can.)

I never got a rogue beyond level four but I am all about the ranged classes.

(Which I emailed about because dude, you can ride a raptor and have one eat a human's face!)

And when are you on? I can make an alt and pop over for a bit.

I went to the other village already! Because...they told me to go west! So I did! And west took me to the other town. :(

hee. My lunch is at 4 which is when I will probably be playing.

But no, it was the *very first quest*. The "Your place in the world" one. Like, it was literally the "go find your teacher who is right down the street" quest. So, I followed instructions! I went west! And I went and I went and I went and then i was in a village with other trolls.

And then there was a thing and it killed me and then I was confused.
