it's amazing how the more my mom talks, the more I want to buy shoes.

I like shoes :) erm. comfortable shoes that go with jeans and also sometimes boots, except I look ridiculous in boots so I tend to stick with like, chucks or rocket dogs.

...except you don't dream of high top chuck taylors printed with argyle and broken hearts when you think of shoes. HEE.

Um. Does she want you to buy shoes? Or to not buy shoes? (My mom's lectures used to tempt me to do all sorts of things that I had no intention of doing before she advised me not to.) Or are the shoes just somewhere afar from the sphere of sorrow?

I wish I could buy interesting shoes, but I do better with shirts. There's basically one line of shoes that are sufficiently dressy to wear to my IT job and sufficiently comfortable for me to commute in, and I buy them in small clutches and wear them everywhere. Boring, but foot comfort is a necessity.

No, it's mostly that she talks and I stare longingly at the window and dream of escaping to where she is not talking and also I get the urge to spend money. Hence shoes.

Luckily, I can wear bright red shoes with hula girls on them to work, which opens up a wide, wide range of shoes that I can buy. It is a happy thing. But when I was working at Marriott, my shoe purchases were limited, though there was one pair of mary janes I had that were *gloriously* comfortable.

It's not bad! It's just that I don't want to be here anymore. I'm just tired of it.
