First of all, we are hiring for some kind of awesome positions. http://www.blizzard.com/us/jobopp/ for more information. and some of it, uh, apparently hasn't been listed like Librarian/Archivist and Historian and Associate Producer for Licensed Product Development. If you're local to SoCal (spec. OC) and you want more info, let me know.

Anyway. Meme.
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don’t blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don’t blog about, but you’d like to hear about, and I’ll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on tv, favorite type of underwear, stories I'm working on, travel, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

*snuggles* I don't actually know what the librarian would be doing? But I thought of you *immediately*.

.......dude. if I a) dared get a job without endangering the benefits I have, and b) were living in socal, I would be /so/ tempted to apply for a csr position. That would be totally so very awesome.

...except for the bit where I don't and aren't. *sadface*

awwww. CSR positions come in two flavors -- live rep (what I do) and online rep (the GMs, if you've ever opened a ticket, they're the ones that answer).

*snuggles* I wish you could come down here and go for it! It would be awesome!

(you may want to look at Blizzard North, which is, I believe, in NorCal, but I don't know if they still exist or were something that used to exist which got merged into the main office or what).

Yeah, online rep would be more the sort of thing I'd want to do, maybeIthink.

but it's kind of moot.

(I don't think bnorth still exists, and if it does it's probably in the bay area which isn't really close enough *sadface* )

Awww. *sulks* I will keep my ear out. Maybe with the Activision merger, we'll get info on stuff they're doing.

Oooh, can I tap you for some more info on the Librarian/Archivist position? Or any of them? My internship is up in May, and I'm looking to NOT move back to Fresno :D

What email address did you want me to send it to? I can forward you the pertinent info on what all we have available. Ooh, oooh, also, we are doing a Quality Assurance internship, so, game testing and whatnot. Um. Also we have a university outreach program (more info: http://www.blizzard.com/us/jobopp/universityrelations/ )

...I probably should have left an email address! I am full of fail tonight, wow:

dpleban[at]gmail.com would rock!

Are the internships paid? I just graduated, and most internships don't let you work for free if you aren't getting some sort of credit (despite my earnest insistence that I won't tell anyone! apparently slave labor is illegal or somesuchnonsense)

*thinks* I don't know. I didn't actually pay any attention at all to the QA internship email when it dropped into my inbox. I did pay attention to the stuff I might remotely be good at, but I don't delete any of my email, so I should still have it. When I get to work tomorrow, I will totally pull the external-allowed stuff and forward it to you.

Aww! *shakes fist at world and its lack of tesseract* I really, really love my job and I want other people to love their jobs like I love mine. Plus, geeks. Geeks all over the place. So I try to pimp where I can.

The Historian position was, if I recall the description correctly, all about maintaining Blizzard lore. So, basically, being a *canon nazi*. It made me laugh. Oh nerds.

Oh cool! Thanks for the heads up. The only downside would be the commute from O'side to Irvine. :)
