...man, the new LKH book *starts* with a threesome.

that's *awesome*. Terrible and hilarity inducing and poorly edited, but awesome.

Is it a Blake or a Gentry? I'll have to borrow it from my exroomie who still loves these.

A Blake. It comes out in 17 days. I know this, because there's a *countdown* at LKH's incredibly ugly website.

(seriously, a threesome! in the first chapter! because vanilla sex in the bedroom is SOUL KILLING.)

oh, it's EVEN BETTER than the way I mentioned in the post. Because, you know, it's LKH! It's possible there's a plot-"driven" reason why there's a threesome!

But no. It's because someone broke up with their girlfriend and he's sad and also because vanilla sex in the bedroom is soul killing. HILARITY.

::headdesk:: Because he's SAD? That only works if it's Brendon Urie!

...she hasn't pulled this shit with Edward yet, has she?

Nope! Edward is still safe off in wedded bliss and adoptive parenthood and serial vigilantism in New Mexico.

Thank God for that! I mean, it was freaky enough when we found out he was marrying, I...actually, tales of sexual deviance would probably have been what I would have expected back then from Edward. On the other hand, knowing how well LKH handles sexual deviance... ::shudders::

LKH = Laurell K Hamilton, who writes the Anita Blake series of books as well as the Merry Gentry series. They're kind of hilariously awful and ridiculous and yet like crack, as I cannot stop reading them.

Am I just completely off my nut and remembering wrong, that the AB series *started out* pretty good when it was just plot and some sexual tension, and then quickly declined as LKH decided she just had to try to "prove to people that women could write decent porn"? And now it's just horrible, badly written, Mary Sue sex, and all two of her stupid euphemisms for dick used repeatedly, for every five pages of actual plot.

(Hey, I'm rilee, I just added you mimesere)

Hello! And no, you're not wrong. I started reading the books because they were actually good, and then like, Blue Moon happened and it all went horribly, horribly wrong. Now they have totally passed through terrible and are circling right back around to AMAZING.

...it's not necessarily a good kind of amazing, but it is amazing nonetheless.
