They were rather overwhelmingly subtexty, weren't they? I assume the one who was lying about how much action he was getting is actually gay and wobbling between the Conflicted and Terrified hangers in his closet, whereas his emo-haired friend will have his heterosexuality strongly asserted with Blonde Bicycle Girl.

...I just put more thought into the slashy barely-teens than into anything else on this show. Molly Parker and Jack Davenport, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME???? *weeps*

If that wasn't intentional, then they're definitely doing something wrong. Maybe the kid's going to turn out to be bisexual? That would be different for network TV, at least.

Agreed, on all counts. Honestly, I don't see why Bruce can't have been British. He could have just immigrated to America and then gone to Harvard's business school or something. At least that way, I wouldn't have to deal with J-Dav's wonky attempts at sounding American on top of Bruce being a shallow dick. One or the other is tolerable, but both? Oy.

I enjoyed Molly Parker and Lana Parilla, though.
