stuff that i like, in no particular order
May. 6th, 2009 02:45 pmi'm home sick again because i have no voice which is...difficult when one's job is basically phone support and because i'm coughing so much i've hurt my chest (again) and my lungs (again) and my jaw (that's new) and i'm coughing up icky stuff (again again again GAH). It was probably not the wisest decision i've ever made, but i'm having trouble focusing my eyes because the coughing and aforementioned pains have kept me awake almost every night for the past week. Um. ANYWAY. I thought i'd focus on happier things what I like and which make me happy (of the domestic variety, I guess).
1) Mrs Meyers' Clean Day All Purpose Cleaner in Lavender - So, I pretty much use this to clean everything. It smells nice, i'm not afraid to use it around my food, and i'm going to go clean my kitchen and bathroom floors with it after i take a nap.
2) Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent and fabric softener in lavender and eucalyptus. Look, I like lavender scented stuff. It makes me happy, it keeps me calm, and it's not too perfumey.
3) My iced tea maker which I'm too lazy to look up. It is by Back 2 Basics. I love this thing because it means I can have flavored, high quality iced tea with the amount of sweetener that I like instead of Lipton or Snapple. Honest Tea is good, though. I recommend that stuff.
3) Soup bases.
4) Haagen Dazs Brown Sugar ice cream. OM NOM NOM.
5) This recipe for apple dumplings. It is extravagant and bad for you and delicious beyond the telling of it.
6) Avatar: The Last Airbender. If I had been a kid when this had come out, this would have been my first fandom. As an adult (ahahahahaha!), it's still making me ridiculously happy. Though I'm a little embarrassed to admit the part where I come up with ridiculous fic ideas for Katara and Zuko. NO I DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT CAME FROM. We're about halfway through Book 2 and I'm still all :D :D :D at it. Well played, Nickolodeon. Well played, indeed. However, I do have to mention: I SPIT ON THE LIVE ACTION FILM. SPIT! Seriously, WAY TO FAIL THAT ONE UP, HOLLYWOOD.
7) Star Trek! STAR TREK! OMG YOU GUYS IT'S IN LIKE TWO DAYS. Bring it, Zoe Saldana and Karl Urban. You bring me my TOS darlings. (I just want it said that wee!me LOVED some Uhura and McCoy.) Sadly, Zachary Quinto, I look at you and just want to punch you in the face for Sylar. Also, how much am I looking forward to John Cho as Sulu? I love that man. He's awesome.
8) Friday night anime. We have instituted a policy in Nerdtopia (which is what I have decided to call my house until a better name can be found) where we make dinner and watch anime/tv/whatever we want as a group on Friday nights. So far we have watched...oh hell. Something I don't remember. There was a girl and she was a robot and felt the deaths of other robots and went on a revenge kick (eta: It is called Armitage. And some number). Mostly I spent the time shouting at the dad/boyfriend/whatever on the television and saying he was dumb. IDEK. Anime is really hit or miss with me. And by that I mostly mean miss, except for Bleach and Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex. So far. I'm willing to entertain the possibility that there is other stuff I will like.
9) Queen: The Platinum collection.
10) Chicken and dumplings.
