The Replacements -- Because apparently I'm totally a sucker for movies where the official team goes on strike and the games have to be played by replacement players. This is also totally true of that one movie with Kathy Ireland and Scott Bakula, both Major League movies, and really, any movie that involves a cast of misfits playing sports and discovering that they are truly awesome and the equal of professional players if they just want it enough. See also: Angels in the Outfield (both versions), The Mighty Ducks, A League of Their Own, Iron Ladies, etc etc etc. Okay, so maybe I am just a sucker for earnest sports movies.

Date: 2006-03-23 09:33 am (UTC)I am such a sucker for all those sports movies you listed. I am actually just a sucker for sports movies in general. I loved the ones which came out around the same time as Angels in the Outfield. The one where the kid inherited a baseball team. And Rookie of the Year (whose star was on Grey's earlier this season and it totally drove me nuts trying to figure out where I knew him from and why I liked him so darn much automatically).

Date: 2006-03-23 03:57 pm (UTC)Oh, Rookie of the Year. *hearts* I'm all torn, because the sports movie loving part of me wants to see The Greatest Game Ever Played, but that almost looks too earnest. And it is about golf, so I am kind of like, "Hmmmm."
